Module 8 - Stress; From distress to Eustress

Welcome to this final Brain Hacks session, where we untangle the real roots of stress — not as an enemy, but as a signal.

In this module, we explored stress as feedback: a response to our perception of a one-sided world. We broke down the two forms — eustress, which aligns with challenge in the pursuit of purpose, and distress, which arises when we perceive threat without support, or fantasy without grounding.

We unpacked how stress emerges when we:

  • Expect gain without loss or pleasure without pain — splitting perception and destabilizing the nervous system

  • Chase fantasies or avoid nightmares, projecting outcomes with only one side seen

  • Inject others' values and abandon our own highest priorities

Module 7: Depression – Breaking the Fantasy, Reclaiming Your Centre

Welcome to this week's session on Depression.

In this module, we looked deeply at depression not as a flaw or failure, but as feedback, a signal that our perceptions have become imbalanced and our expectations misaligned with reality.

We explored how depression emerges when we:

  • Compare our present reality to a fantasy about how life “should” be

  • Hold onto regrets, ideals, or one-sided expectations that reality doesn’t match

  • Abandon our highest values in favour of injected expectations or people-pleasing

Module 6 -Overwhelm

Welcome to this week’s session on Overwhelm.

In this module, we explored how overwhelm is not a flaw, but feedback—a signal that something in our system (strategy, expectations, emotional clarity) is out of alignment.

We looked at how overwhelm shows up when:

  • Everything feels equally urgent (loss of hierarchy)

  • Our expectations are unrealistic or perfectionistic

  • We’re filling our days with tasks disconnected from our true values

Module 5: Procrastination — Feedback from Your Highest Self

In this module, we reframed procrastination from being a flaw to being feedback — a signal from your wiser mind that something is out of alignment with your true values.

We explored how procrastination isn’t laziness or lack of discipline, but a form of intelligence — your psyche’s way of conserving energy when the task doesn’t serve your authentic mission. You’ll see how the brain’s amygdala activates avoidance when tasks are low in value or unclear in strategy, while the prefrontal cortex naturally takes the lead when actions are meaningful, purposeful, and aligned.

Together we uncovered:

  • How procrastination reveals injected values and externally imposed “shoulds.”

  • The distinction between value misalignment and lack of clarity — and how both create resistance.

  • How to link dreaded or delayed tasks to your highest values, turning chores into inspired action.

Module 4: Criticism & Rejection – Dissolving the Fear of Disapproval

In this module, we explored the emotional charge behind criticism and rejection, experiences that often feel deeply personal, yet in truth serve as mirrors reflecting universal principles at work within human behaviour.

Together, we examined how these dynamics arise: we only fear rejection from those we’ve elevated above ourselves, and we only attract criticism when we’re either challenging someone’s values or exaggerating our own. Both are feedback mechanisms, guiding us back to authenticity and equilibrium.

We uncovered how addiction to praise intensifies the pain of rejection - the higher we climb into idealisation, the harder the fall into its opposite. When we subordinate to others’ opinions, we lose connection to our own values and sense of worth.

Through the Demartini Method, we worked to:

• Balance perceptions of those we felt rejected or criticised by

• Identify where we’ve demonstrated similar traits or actions ourselves

Module 3- Imposter Syndrome and Self Doubt

Dissolving the Illusion of Inadequacy

In this module, we explore one of the most pervasive forms of self-doubt -the feeling of being an imposter.

Beneath it lies a distortion in perception: comparing ourselves to others while seeing only part of the picture.

Together, we’ll uncover how imposter syndrome forms when we elevate others onto pedestals and diminish ourselves in the process. We’ll trace how this imbalance disconnects us from our authenticity and creates the illusion that we’re somehow “less than.”

Through the Demartini Method framework, we’ll work to:

• Identify and own the traits you admire in others that already exist within you

Module 2: Anxiety – Dissolving the Simulations of Fear

In this module, we explored anxiety as more than random unease. It is a signal—your mind running simulations of loss and gain based on unresolved perceptions from the past.

Together, we looked at the two root fears that sit behind every anxious thought:

  • The fear of gain—anticipating a challenge or pain we don’t want.

  • The fear of loss—anticipating the absence of something we’re attached to or idealising.

We traced how emotionally charged memories—moments once perceived as only painful or only pleasurable—become projected forward as future nightmares or fantasies. And we worked step by step to rebalance those original perceptions, dissolving the charge so the grip of anxiety softens.

Voids and Values

In this session, we explored the powerful dynamic between our voids—what we perceive as missing—and our values—what we are consistently drawn to fulfil.

We looked at how voids form through our perceptions of loss, lack, or challenge, and how these experiences shape the unique value system that governs your decisions, attention, and fulfilment. Understanding this gives you clarity on why you do what you do, and dissolves a huge amount of mental noise and internal pressure.

We also explored how to identify your true values (not the idealised or inherited ones), and how to begin aligning your goals, choices, and actions with what actually matters to you—so you can stop fighting yourself and start moving with congruence and ease.

In this session, you will:

  • Discover the profound impact of identifying and living by your highest value.

  • Learn how your brain aligns with your values to create clarity, focus, and inspired action.

Welcome to Module 1 of the BrainHacks series: Understanding Human Behaviour.

In this session, we’ll dive into the foundational principles that shape everything we think, feel, and do.

You’ll learn how your unique hierarchy of values drives your decisions, actions, and even your emotional responses. We’ll explore the universal laws that govern human behavior and how understanding these principles can help you bring balance and clarity to your life.

By the end of this module, you’ll have a clearer understanding of why you do what you do—and the tools to start transforming your perspective and your reality. Please feel free to post in the group any questions or insights you may have from listening to this module.

Thankyou
