WHAT ARE VALUES?

Have you ever noticed how you take spontaneous actions towards some things in life, and other things need a great deal of motivation, or fall by the wayside lost in distraction and procrastination and never get done at all?

Knowing what’s highest on your unique list of values and learning how to live by highest priority can completely transform your life.

Knowing your unique hierarchy of values is the most important place to start if you intend to expand to the next level of your empowerment. Whether you wish to grow your finances, leadership, influence or your business, whether your intention is to transform your relationship, health or any area of your life, it all starts with understanding what’s highest on your values.

  • values are your evaluations or judgements about what is most to least important in your life at any moment.

  • values determine your world view, generate your behaviour and give reason to why you do what you do.

  • values determine what you label as good or evil, moral or unethical or what you respect or disrespect.

  • values determine your sense of worth and identity, or being.

To understand or know yourself you must know your highest values.

Your hierarchy of values  can and do change and therefore so can your perceptions and life.

Every human being consciously or unconsciously lives by a set of priorities or set of values or that which is most important to least important in their life.

Your set of values is unique to you. They are like fingerprints. Trying to copy somebody else’s set of values is almost certain to diminish your potential and result in your being second at being somebody else, instead of being first at being the true and authentic you.

everyone is a genius - Albert Einstein

Values arise from and are determined by your conscious or unconscious voids, in other words by that which you perceive as most missing. What you perceive as most missing (void) in your life therefore becomes what you perceive as most important (value).

Your fulfilment means the filling of your perceptually empty voids.

The hierarchy of your voids determines the hierarchy of your values. The hierarchy of your values determine how you perceive and how you act in your world. In this way they determine your immediate destiny.

Since your values change over time, your destiny therefore changes over time, creating your evolving life journey.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?

When you live according to your highest values blood, oxygen and glucose flow into the executive centre in your brain and you become inspired and awaken genius. Our forebrain has foresight, inner vision, strategic planning, the desire to execute the plans and also provides self governance; the ability to monitor our emotional distractions that sets us up for mastery of our lives.

When you set goals and intentions in accordance with your highest values you have the highest probability of achieving what you intend and would love. Once you know what is truly most important to you it is simply targeting your actions on to the path of fulfilling it.

What happens when you live a life congruent with your highest values?

  • You awaken your natural born leader lying dormant within, take command of your life and become master of your destiny.

  • You begin to empower all areas of life and embrace support and challenge equally along the path of your purpose and pursuit of your goals.

  • You are willing to fill your day with challenges that inspire you and that serve others.

  • You’re most likely to be spontaneously inspired to act on it and have the highest probability of achieving it.

  • You are living with authenticity and fulfilment.

  • Your self-worth tends to go up when you live spontaneously by and congruently with your true highest values.

What happens when you live a life according to your lower values?

When you live according to your lower values you require continuous outside motivation, you suppress your genius, and seek immediate gratifying ease. You procrastinate, hesitate and frustrate. Immediate gratification costs your long term vision and as a result, the clarity of what is important to you gets clouded. From immediate gratification (consumerism, drugs, alcohol, sugar, sex, etc) you may feel temporary pleasure, but not fulfilment. This emptiness can lead you to compare yourself to others who you perceive are 'better' than you. You then inject their values into your life and subordinate in the hopes you will improve and fill the emptiness.

You end up banging your head against the wall as you try to live your life according to someone else's values (which is futile), judge yourself as you are unable to meet your expected goals (because they are not congruent with your individual highest values), become frustrated, angry, depressed and self depreciating, and often resentful of other's to whom you are comparing yourself. This lowers your self worth and as a result you brain offload, where you tend to make decisions through other people's authority. This is a very disempowered state and as a result you don't feel confident and you tend to seek instant gratification to make you feel better. What a perfect storm!

Discover what is truly most important to you, enable yourself to live congruently, with authenticity and leadership and have an inspiring and fulfilled life!
